At its centre, the Shamrock Pin offers a mark of authenticity and heritage.
Material Excellence, Tailored by Hand
Figured Teak Handle – Rich Texture, Natural Oil, and Coastal Strength
Figured Teak is a tropical hardwood treasured for its dramatic grain movement, high natural oil content, and resistance to moisture. Traditionally used in shipbuilding, it brings both strength and sophistication to the handle. Each piece is shaped and polished by hand, allowing the curl and depth of the figuring to come alive — combining function with a unique and graceful appearance.
Red Liner – Reinforced Core with Vibrant Contrast
A red liner is positioned between tang and timber, enhancing durability while adding a bold accent beneath the golden and brown figuring of the teak. It strengthens the structure and elevates the design.
Suminagashi San Mai VG10 – Layered Steel, Unique to Each Blade
At the core of the blade lies VG10 stainless steel, selected for its hardness, cutting clarity, and edge retention. The core is protected through San Mai construction, with softer stainless steel layers laminated on either side for added toughness and corrosion resistance. The outer surfaces are etched and polished to reveal the blade’s Suminagashi pattern — flowing wave-like lines created by layering and folding steels of different carbon contents. Each blade is visually unique, with no two marbled patterns alike.
Key Attributes of Suminagashi San Mai VG10 Steel:
• Razor-sharp edge and long-lasting performance
• Triple-layer San Mai construction for strength and durability
• High corrosion resistance for professional kitchen use
• Signature Suminagashi wave pattern – forged into the blade, not printed
• VG10 Santoku kitchen knife – handmade to endure and impress

The Shamrock Pin – A Mark of Irish Craftsmanship
