Patrick Joseph is renowned internationally for crafting high performance knives and is the only formally qualified knife maker in Ireland. With several awards for his work and years of intensive study spent with the world’s leading knife makers, Patrick offers individuals and small groups the opportunity to learn how to make a knife under his expert tutelage. All programs are run in his personal studio forge in Kilkenny.

High-performance Knife Making - Intensive 1 Week Course
For people keen to learn the craft of knife making with a vision to developing their own business, the Patrick Joseph Knife Making School offers an intensive, one week program at the studio forge. The program covers knife making from start to finish, including knife making technique, selecting and dealing with materials, how to forge and how to work safely in the forge, and how to grind and finish. This intensive program has limited places and is offered just three to four times each year.
Unique Knife Making Experience - 2 Day Course
For people keen to learn the craft of knife making with a vision to developing their own business, the Patrick Joseph Knife Making School offers an intensive, one week program at the studio forge.
